Peterborough Lift Lock Area (1)

Another shot of the Lift Lock from the other side of the water.

I’ll probably have to camp out with snacks and a book soon and wait for some boats to go through so I can take pics of them going up/down the Lock.

Peterborough Lift Lock Area (15)

This shot is taken from the top of the Lift Lock–I really want to get a shot of a big boat sitting in the water with the sky in the background!

Peterborough Lift Lock Area (14)

I walked up the stairs to the top of the Peterborough Lift Lock . . .and got some nice shots like this one.

The view on top of the Lock is also quite good as you can see the surrounding area–I didn’t take any landscape shots this time but will go back and probably take some then.

Peterborough Lift Lock Area (5)

I finally went and took some pics of the Lift Lock . . .

I’m going to try and get back to take pics of a boat actually going up/down in the lock–that should be a lot of fun.

Lang Grist Mill – 2011 Lang Pioneer Village, Peterborough

As I said in a previous post there was some great stuff in the Lang Grist Mill (Lang Pioneer Village) to take pictures of–and, for me, to practice using my Speedlite 580EXII flash and how to bounce it off walls to illuminate objects.

Lang Grist Mill, II – 2011 Lang Pioneer Village, Peterborough

Lang Grist Mill (beside Lang Pioneer Village) was a lot of fun to walk around and take pictures of both inside and out. The woman/tour guide inside is quite the character and asks everyone who walks through the door if they’re ‘farmers.’

If you visit the village make sure you go to the mill too–it sits right on the edge of the village a little bit away from the parking lot.
